Printing procedures

Preamble

  • Make sure the room is not very cold (minimum 21°C), otherwise you may have extrusion problems.

  • Make sure the room is not very hot (maximum 27°C), otherwise the motor drivers will overheat and stop working momentarily.

  • Avoid drafts on the printer.

  • Print in a well-ventilated area.

  • Do not print with the Brix unattended.

  • All start-up steps must be completed before performing printing procedures.

  • Check the FAQ page if you encounter any issues.


A-PREPARATION OF THE PRINT BED

Remove the printer's print bed (Y rack)

  • Pay attention to the Y switch arm

Detach the BuildTak sheet from the print bed.

Option 1: Spray a layer of 3Dlac adhesive onto the BuildTak sheet.

  • After many prints, you might start experiencing adherence issues. You will need to clean the BuildTak sheet under cold water, dry it, and respray it with 3D Lac.

Option 2: Spread a thin layer of Elmer's Extreme Glue Stick (completely cover the surface lengthwise and widthwise).

  • After many prints, you might start experiencing adherence issues. You will need to clean the BuildTak sheet under cold water, dry it, and spread the Elmer's Extreme glue again.

Place the BuildTak sheet back on the print bed.

Put the print bed back in place

  • Make sure you install it in the correct direction (see picture), otherwise it may move in the opposite direction.

B- Generating a print file

Repeat at the beginning of each print

  • Kiri Moto (Version 4.2.3 and above) is a free online slicer that requires no software installation.

  • To learn how to use Kiri Moto, please watch the video on the left.

  • An adapter is required to transfer your print files to a mini SD card

  • Do not change the default print settings of the ULIO 3D™ BRIX

  • Avoid printing parts with a wall thickness less than 0.8 mm (such as very small fingers of a hand)

C-PRINTING FROM MICRO SD CARD

Repeat at the beginning of each print

  • Insert the micro SD card into the micro-controller

    • An adapter is required to transfer your print files to a micro (mini) SD card.

  • Click the LCD button

  • Scroll down the menu

  • Select Print from media

  • Select your Gcode file by name

  • Click Print again to start printing

D-REMOVAL OF THE PRINTED PART

Repeat at the end of each print

  • Remove the print bed

    • Pay attention to the Y switch arm

  • Remove the flex plate from the print bed

  • Bend the flexible plate in all directions to detach the 3D model

  • Reinstall the flex plate on the print bed

  • Reinstall the print bed in place
