Preparing your existing 3D printer

Prepare your print bed

  • If you have an existing 3D printer with a heated bed
    • Simply clean you print bed after each print
    • If your corners curl up just get some adhesive spray or glue
    • Wait for the print bed to cool down to room temperature and the plastic part should pop off by itself
      • Please be patient here
      • Do not force the plastic part it might end up warping or even worst breaking
  • If you have an existing 3D printer without a heated bed
    • We recommend you start by laying down stripes of blue tape (#2090) on your removable print bed
    • If the corners of your printed object are curling up during the print:
      • We recommend you spray some 3D lac on the surface of the blue tape
      • You might have to use a brim around your prints (see your slicer's printing setting)
        • This will prolong the post processing cleanup of the printed parts
      • Avoid 3D printing in a cold room (air conditioned or unheated)
      • Avoid cold air drafts on the 3D printer
      • If you still have curling issues please contact your existing 3D printer supplier for more solutions
    • To remove the part from the unheated print bed simply
      • Fill a container up to one inch of warm water (not cold nor boiling)
      • Remove the printbed from the printer and place it inside the container
      • Wait for a little while and the blue tape should slowly detach itself from the print bed
        • Please be patient here
        • Do not force the plastic part it might end up warping or even worst breaking
      • Clean up the part from the blue tape
